Associate Director – Institutional Non-Financial Risk (Seoul)

About the role

ANZ is seeking an Associate Director to lead Institutional Non-Financial Risk in its Seoul branch. The role supports the Institutional bank’s growth across Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance and Coverage by ensuring that non-financial risks are identified, assessed, managed and reported within the bank’s risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to international business leaders on non-financial risk matters, providing insight and challenge to support strategic decisions.
• Oversee the identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of material non-financial risks across the Institutional franchise.
• Ensure compliance with local and emerging regulatory requirements, translating them into practical business processes and control frameworks.
• Lead governance activities, including risk forums, escalation procedures and decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with 2nd line of defence, control partners and business leadership to embed a proactive risk culture.
• Support the implementation of ANZ’s PACT programme to strengthen non-financial risk capabilities group-wide.

Required profile

• Significant experience in non-financial risk management within a banking or financial services environment.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive risk-aware decision making.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory expectations for non-financial risk in Korea and the broader region.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a track record of building effective cross-functional relationships.
