Assistant Professor of Hospitality Management

About the role

Woosong University in Daejeon, South Korea, is recruiting two full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Professors of Hospitality Management for its Department of Hospitality Management. Candidates combine academic preparation with relevant industry experience and link hospitality management theory with professional practice. Successful candidates teach hotel operations, tourism, service management and hospitality business, and advise and mentor students preparing for careers in the international hospitality industry.

Key responsibilities

• Teach 15 credit hours per semester
• Develop and update course materials
• Advise, guide and mentor students
• Take part in curriculum development, program assessment and accreditation
• Contribute to departmental and university committees, academic events and student organisations
• Perform other duties assigned by the department chair or dean

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in Hotel Management or Tourism Management with at least three years of relevant industry experience, or
• Masters degree in Hotel Management or Tourism Management with at least ten years of relevant industry experience
• English proficiency sufficient for teaching and academic communication
• Open only to foreign nationals; Korean nationals should look at the university's domestic recruitment

Preferred qualifications

• Practical hotel management experience in a senior role such as General Manager, Deputy General Manager or Director

What we offer

• Annual salary of KRW 50,000,000 to 70,000,000 before tax, with possible higher pay for exceptional candidates
