Technical Product Manager - Neobank Superapp
bjakcareer · Seoul
Job description
About the role
BJAK, the leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia, is building a Neobank Superapp for the region. As a Technical Product Manager you will own a product vertical end to end, such as payments and expense management, remittance, insurance or wealth and trading, from strategy, outcomes and roadmap through to the technical design and delivery of the systems behind it. The role is remote, but candidates must be based in Korea.
Key responsibilities
- Own a vertical end to end: outcomes and metrics, a backlog prioritised by value, risk, dependency and strategic priority, and acceptance criteria sharp enough to build and test against.
- Shape the technical design with engineering: system boundaries, money-movement correctness (idempotency, ledgering, reconciliation), third-party-rail reliance, failure/retry/refund paths, security, latency, scalability and recovery.
- Make hard trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability and UX, and defend them to engineering, compliance or ops leads.
- Treat regulated constraints as first-class inputs: licensing scope, CDD/KYC and limits, sanctions/PEP screening, transaction monitoring, data residency and privacy, and know which are hard launch gates.
- Apply AI where it earns its place: define what it can decide, where humans stay in the loop, how it is evaluated and how it behaves when unsure.
- Ship behind flags, go live per rail as each partner and regulatory gate clears, and work across Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury and Finance/Reconciliation.
Required profile
- Significant experience owning a complex technical product end to end, with strong judgement and decisiveness under ambiguity.
- Experience in a regulated or high-consequence domain (payments, banking, remittance, insurance) or demonstrable fast-ramp ability.
- Hands-on experience with LLM-based products, able to frame features as evaluable and realistic about hallucination, drift and data gaps.
- Strong English communication; the role is remote.
Nice to have
- Engineer or highly technical PM background.
- Zero-to-one experience and shipped AI-heavy consumer products.
- Defined eval metrics for ML/LLM systems.
- AI UX and failure-handling intuition.
- SEA market experience.
The interview process is fast: online assessment or practical task, then a role-specific interview and a CEO/final round, with offers aimed at being made within a week of starting interviews.
