Specialist Solutions Architect - Data Warehousing

About the role

Databricks is hiring a Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA) for data warehousing in Seoul. The SSA guides customers through their cloud data warehousing transformation with Databricks, working in a customer-facing role alongside Solution Architects. The role reports to the Specialist Field Engineering Manager and covers evaluations, production planning and the technical roadmap of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Guide strategic customers through cloud transformations, from evaluation and architecture design to production deployment
• Architect production workloads, including end-to-end pipeline load performance testing and optimization
• Become a technical expert in areas such as data warehousing evaluations or workload migrations
• Support Solution Architects with proof of concepts, workload sizing and performance estimation, and production tuning
• Deliver tutorials and training, including hackathons and conference presentations, and contribute to the Databricks Community

Required profile

• 5+ years in a technical role with data warehousing expertise (query tuning, troubleshooting, migration workloads)
• 2 years of professional experience with data warehousing and big data technologies
• 2 years of customer-facing experience in pre-sales or post-sales
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent experience
• Ability to complete technical training and role-specific outcomes within 6 months of hire
• Native Korean is a must; business-level English is preferred

Required skills

• Design and implementation of data warehousing technologies: relational databases, SQL, data analytics, MPP, OLAP
• Production programming in SQL and Python, or Java for UDFs
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
• Nice to have: Databricks certification
