Senior Product Manager, Finance Platform & Accounting Engineering

About the role

Coupang is looking for a Senior Product Manager (L6-1) to own the end-to-end product strategy and execution of its internal finance and accounting platforms. The role bridges complex financial domain logic with scalable distributed systems, working backwards from internal finance, accounting, tax and audit stakeholders to build automated, reliable and compliant products. Key responsibilities

• Define the product vision, strategy and multi-year roadmap for core finance and accounting platform products, aligning technical architecture with business growth and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the full product lifecycle, from discovery and PRDs through design, build, deployment and post-launch optimisation, with engineering, data science and accounting operational teams.
• Partner with Controllership, Accounting, Tax, Treasury and Internal Audit to automate manual month-end processes and streamline continuous closing.
• Write detailed user stories, technical specifications and acceptance criteria, and maintain a prioritised backlog in an agile framework.
• Set metrics and KPIs focused on data accuracy, reconciliation speed, automated ledger entry rates and processing latency.
• Present product updates, architecture decisions and trade-offs to senior finance and technology leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, Accounting or a related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of product management, program management, solutions architecture or software development experience delivering large-scale enterprise software.
• Ability to turn complex financial processes into scalable software requirements, with strong data-driven problem solving.
• Clear communication of complex technical concepts to non-technical finance partners and executives.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver complex platform initiatives under tight timelines.

Preferred

• Engineering undergraduate, computer science or equivalent advanced degree.
• Experience defining APIs, data pipelines, microservices or PaaS capabilities.
• Understanding of general ledgers, sub-ledgers, revenue recognition, tax engine integrations or ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle Financials).
• Direct experience in e-commerce, fintech, high-frequency transactional platforms or payment gateway architecture.
