Medical Science Liaison - Rare Disease

About the role

AstraZeneca is hiring a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for its Rare Disease portfolio, based in Seoul. The role covers a defined geography or account and an assigned therapeutic area, and requires fluent Korean because of frequent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the Medical Affairs Plan(s) for the assigned products and indications in the territory.
• Provide scientific support to healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders for AstraZeneca's assigned molecules.
• Foster scientific partnerships with major hospitals and institutions in the territory.
• Bridge the gap between local and national product strategies through an understanding of the patient journey.
• Take a 360-degree view of the healthcare ecosystem to support holistic patient care.
• Gather insights on the local health system and help deliver scalable clinical practice transformations that improve access to quality care.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or a professional qualification in a science-related field.
• Fluent English; fluent Korean is required.
• At least 3 years of MSL experience, with more than 5 years preferred; Rare Disease experience preferred.
• No disqualifying reasons for overseas travel.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and field medical liaison roles.
• Ability to interact with and manage internal and external stakeholders.
• Understanding of Medical Affairs and project management skills.
• Knowledge of legislation relevant to pharmaceutical sales and marketing.
