Manager, ETCH Customer Engineer

About the role

The Manager, ETCH Customer Engineer leads the district’s customer engineering team for Applied Materials’ semiconductor equipment. You will develop and maintain strong customer relationships, oversee installations, and drive financial and operational performance across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and sustain customer relationships at all levels, conducting regular visits.
• Manage, coach, and direct all customer engineers in the district, including salary and career planning.
• Serve as the primary interface with product divisions for technical support, training, spares, and reliability.
• Oversee account planning with District Sales Engineer and provide system sales support.
• Lead system installation projects, including pre‑facility and start‑up meetings.
• Manage RMA procedures and monitor engineer performance and hours tracking.
• Prepare financial forecasts, cost‑efficiency measures, and quarterly award program results.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership and people‑management experience, including performance appraisals and corrective actions.
• Strong business acumen with ability to set objectives, forecast financial results, and drive cost efficiency.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, applying judgment within defined policies and procedures.
• Effective interpersonal and presentation abilities to gain cooperation and convey technical information.
