IATD R&D Technician – Product Physical Properties Evaluation

About the role

3M is recruiting for a Product Physical Properties Evaluation position within its Industrial Tape and Adhesive Division, based at the Dongtan Research Laboratory in Hwaseong, South Korea. The role evaluates the physical properties of tapes and adhesives, which are among 3M's main adhesive solutions, and supports new product development and customer technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate the physical properties of tapes and adhesives
• Cut tape products and prepare test specimens for evaluation
• Use a universal testing machine to measure physical properties under different test conditions
• Prepare specimens for adhesive dynamic mechanical property tests and use a rheometer for evaluation
• Analyze product physical property data and write reports to support customers' business and problem solving
• Generate ideas for more effective physical property evaluation of adhesive solutions
• Evaluate and analyze developmental products for new product development

Required profile

• Experience in physical property testing of chemical products
• Experience in experimental data analysis and technical problem solving
• Experience in customer technical support
• High school diploma or higher
• Ability to read and write English
• Preferred: experience evaluating adhesive tapes and adhesives, using a universal testing machine and rheometer, quality control experience, chemistry-related major or associate degree
