Field Service Engineer - Medical Devices

About the role

This Field Service Engineer position is part of Varian Medical Systems Korea and works closely as one team with Siemens Healthineers. The role covers technical service tasks of various scopes, including installation, commissioning, maintenance and evaluation of customer equipment and systems, and supports planning and managing them. The working location is Daejeon.

Key responsibilities

• Complete broad scope of technical tasks such as installation, commissioning, maintenance and evaluation of customer equipment and systems.
• Determine priorities of tasks and actions and schedule measures accordingly.
• Support customers remotely and on site, providing second and third level user support for issues.
• Contribute to or conduct maintenance and improvement of internal tools, equipment, processes and data repositories.
• Take part in estimating, planning and reviewing technical tasks to support project acquisition, negotiation, planning and management.
• Follow relevant processes and regulations; may manage subcontractors and monitor delivery.
• May be involved in technical design and development of service offerings.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 10 years of service experience in the medical device field.
• Experience servicing Linac equipment is preferred.
• Fluent in the local language and English (written and spoken) is preferred.
• Good understanding of service commercial terms and articulate interpersonal communication.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and to work office and non-office hours as required.
• Candidates with less experience will also be considered; candidates based in Daejeon are preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of MS Windows, Office and Salesforce.com.
• Sound understanding of customer requirements.
