Field Quality Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Field Quality Engineer (FQE) to improve service quality, customer satisfaction, and equipment reliability across our installed base. This role links field service teams, engineering, manufacturing, quality organizations, and customers to identify recurring issues, drive root‑cause investigations, and implement sustainable corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze field service data, customer feedback, and equipment performance trends to identify quality improvement opportunities.
• Lead root‑cause investigations and corrective actions for recurring product and service issues.
• Partner with field service, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve complex technical problems.
• Improve service documentation, lessons learned, and knowledge assets for effective troubleshooting.
• Develop and track quality metrics, dashboards, and action plans to drive continuous improvement.
• Support customer escalations through technical analysis and cross‑functional issue resolution.
• Drive field quality capability development through training, coaching, and promotion of quality processes.
• Participate in product introductions, ramp readiness, and field reliability improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, field service engineering, manufacturing, or customer support.
• Proven experience leading root‑cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to interpret technical data and identify trends.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence across functions.
• Preferred: experience in semiconductor or high‑tech capital equipment, knowledge of quality management systems, and familiarity with reliability engineering.
