Director of Catering

About the role

Four Seasons Hotel Seoul is looking for a Director of Catering, a full-time department-head position. The Director leads the team in soliciting business and handling all incoming event inquiries while adhering to service standards, converts positive event business into sales, optimizes function space use and achieves the total catering revenue goals.

Key responsibilities

• Sales: lead sales managers in responding to event inquiries, manage leads, the sales process and group handling, supervise lead qualification and proposals, build business rapport with top accounts, and prospect local corporate catering accounts through calls, trade shows and on-site entertainment.
• Revenue management: implement need-it-curve guidelines, develop event pricing strategies, and take part in revenue strategy meetings.
• Space management: oversee function space blocking standards and monitor the space waiting list to avoid overlaps and long waits.
• Team leadership: recruit, select, train and motivate staff, conduct bi-annual evaluations and coaching, and build a cohesive team culture.
• Administration: ensure compliance with Golden S&C standards, keep business and sales data up to date, and schedule regular trainings.

Required profile

• Ideally a university degree.
• At least 2 years of work experience as Director of Catering or Assistant Director of Catering.
• Valid work authorization in South Korea.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Bilingual writing skills.
• Customer interaction, problem solving, reasoning, motivation, organization and training abilities.
