CMP Installation Customer Engineer – Field Service

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you act as the primary liaison with customers, installing, maintaining, and upgrading CMP equipment. You will leverage digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring optimal equipment performance.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Apply basic diagnostic techniques under guidance to assess and address technical problems.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• 1–2 years of experience in customer/field service support or a related technical field.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
