Transformer Factory Buyer

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY KOREA LTD. is looking for a Transformer Factory Buyer in Cheonan-si, South Korea. The role covers manufacturing materials procurement and inventory management: ensuring timely availability of materials through purchase execution, supplier coordination and procurement performance management. It does not cover production planning, demand planning, supply planning, inventory planning or production scheduling.

Key responsibilities

• Execute purchases according to approved requirements, technical specs, target prices, delivery schedules, Incoterms and agreed terms.
• Generate, review, release and follow up purchase requisitions and purchase orders, and coordinate with suppliers to confirm delivery dates and shipping information in the ERP.
• Follow up open orders, expedite or reschedule deliveries, and handle shortages and production-critical needs.
• Lead commercial communication with suppliers on price, lead time, minimum order quantity, payment terms and delivery conditions.
• Support supplier selection, quotation analysis, bidding, negotiation, onboarding and performance evaluation.
• Monitor supplier delivery, quality and commercial performance, and identify supply continuity risks such as alternative sourcing and supplier recovery plans.
• Maintain accurate supplier, price, lead-time and order data in the ERP, and resolve goods receipt, invoice, price variance, quality hold and PO closure issues with Warehouse, Quality, Finance and suppliers.
• Analyze procurement data, spend, price variance and supplier performance to find risks, gaps and cost opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct, procurement policies, contracts, trade compliance and internal controls, and support continuous improvement and digitalisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering or a related field.
• 3-8 years of procurement or purchasing experience in manufacturing, industrial, energy, engineering or a comparable environment.
• Practical experience with purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier follow-up, commercial terms, delivery management and issue resolution.
• Business-level English sufficient for supplier correspondence, meetings, negotiation and document review.

Required skills

• Practical experience with ERP systems for procurement transactions; SAP experience preferred.
• Understanding of Incoterms, goods delivery and invoice verification.
• Advanced Excel; exposure to Power BI, Power Automate, macros, Python, Microsoft Copilot or similar AI tools is preferred.
