Senior Computer Vision Engineer (Autonomous Driving)

About the role

42dot is recruiting a Senior Computer Vision Engineer in Pangyo for its concentrated hiring campaign. The engineer researches and develops unified vision models and learning methods for autonomous driving, working on 3D scene understanding tasks such as 3D object detection, road structure understanding and occupancy prediction. The work covers distributed training across many GPUs and nodes, and improving generalization across driving environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop multi-task learning models and training strategies that combine 3D object detection, road structure understanding and occupancy prediction, and tune data composition, sampling, loss balancing and training schedules.
• Analyze and optimize bottlenecks in large-scale multi-GPU and multi-node training (computation, memory, communication, data pipelines).
• Reproduce performance regressions and failures found in real driving, and run ablation studies to isolate the cause.
• Research representation learning and self-supervised learning on large unlabeled driving data, design pre-training recipes and evaluate transfer to downstream tasks.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of computer vision and deep learning, with at least 8 years of experience researching and developing models.
• Experience with multi-GPU distributed training and fixing performance, memory and stability issues.
• In-depth research or development in at least one of multi-task learning, representation learning or self-supervised learning.
• Preferred: PhD in a related field, top-tier conference publications, and experience with BEV or PV-based 3D scene representations.
