Quality Engineer

About the role

MKS Korea is looking for a Quality Engineer to partner with internal teams on quality control (QC) and report to the Quality Assurance Team Manager. The role covers inspection and testing of raw materials, production equipment and finished products, and drives quality improvement and supplier quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, revise and apply quality assurance protocols to inspect and test raw materials, equipment and finished products.
• Analyze inspection data and recommend corrective actions; ensure inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed.
• Improve process capability (Cpk, Ppk) for CTQ/SPC items and share quality tool knowledge (FMEA, RCA, control charts).
• Lead internal and external audits and ensure compliance with ISO regulations and other standards.
• Evaluate inspection documentation and ensure finished products meet customer and company standards.
• Analyze customer returns and failure data (out-of-box quality, warranty returns, QPPM, AFR) and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Interact with customers and suppliers on quality issues and complaints, manage supplier quality and SPC (including PCN), and provide quality training to suppliers.
• Support RCA and corrective actions for non-conformities, review CAPA processes and lead CAPA review board meetings.
• Assess training needs and help deliver training for employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (e.g., electrical/electronic or industrial engineering) or 4 to 8 years of related experience, including 3 to 5 years in quality engineering or quality management.
• Experience supporting new product development and fielded electronic and electromechanical equipment, ideally in the semiconductor capital equipment industry or other advanced markets.
• Experience working with large OEMs and contract manufacturers is a plus.
• Ability to communicate in English, as the role involves regular interaction with U.S.-based colleagues.

Required skills

• Quality tools: quality plans, statistical process control, process flows, FMEA, DOE.
• Preferred: 6 Sigma Green Belt certification, Minitab or JMP, product reliability engineering knowledge, ISO 9001:2005 internal auditor or CAPA admin experience, RF technology knowledge, understanding of semiconductor manufacturing.
