Quality Assurance Assistant Manager

About the role

Stanley Black & Decker is hiring a Quality Assurance Assistant Manager to join its Quality Assurance team in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The role is on-site and supports a Tier 1 automotive parts environment, with HKMC (Hyundai/Kia) as the primary customer.

Key responsibilities

• Manage quality communication with HKMC and suppliers, responding to requests and issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Lead incoming inspection and shipment inspection activities to ensure product conformity and prevent the release of nonconforming products.
• Drive customer complaints, claims and nonconforming product issues through root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions, including on-site customer support when required.
• Drive supplier quality management and improvement, strengthen controls to prevent supplier defects and support annual supplier quality audits.
• Prepare, review and submit customer-required quality documentation on time (e.g., PPAP, shipment inspection reports, periodic inspection and test reports), coordinating customer approval requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of overall quality experience, including 3+ years in the automotive industry.
• Experience at an automotive Tier 1 supplier (preferred); Tier 2 experience is a plus.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting HKMC requirements, systems and customer interactions (highly preferred).
• Proven capability in customer and supplier quality processes, including inspections, nonconformance control and corrective/preventive action execution.
