Oncology Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL)

About the role

GSK is looking for an Oncology Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL), a scientific expert who builds long-term partnerships with the healthcare community across an asset's lifecycle. The role gathers medical insights, supports evidence-based understanding of the science, discusses the pipeline and clinical development strategy, helps inform patient care decisions and engages with emerging health innovations. It reports to the Oncology Medical Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Gather insights on current and future treatment paradigms, patient unmet needs and competitive dynamics, and partner with matrix colleagues (sales, marketing, market access) to keep strategies patient and business focused.
• Communicate scientific evidence that advances understanding and implementation of new healthcare paradigms in line with Strategic Scientific Objectives.
• Foster collaboration with external stakeholders on research activities, including clinical development, medical education and advisory boards, and report insights after congresses.
• Take part in congresses, symposia and medical booths, and respond to unsolicited requests for medical information fairly and rigorously.
• Disseminate important safety information to healthcare professionals as it emerges.
• Comply with GSK standards, local codes of practice, guidelines and laws.

Required profile

• Degree in medicine or another life science; oncology therapy experience preferred.
• Solid grounding in clinical, medical and pharmaceutical science, with the ability to learn quickly.
• Understanding of oncology fundamentals, statistics and analysis.
• Business mindset, understanding of market dynamics and ability to balance cross-functional objectives.
• Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with external stakeholders and to communicate clearly to different audiences.
• Ability to interpret complex scientific data and use multi-channel communication tools.
