Job description

About the role

WildBrain CPLG Korea is looking for a Licensing Manager to join its team, reporting to the Regional Director – Japan & Korea. The role plans, develops and implements commercial strategies that support revenue growth, brand expansion and partner success in Korea. It suits an independent, hands-on professional with strong licensing experience, who takes projects from initial opportunity identification through negotiation, launch, retail execution and ongoing account growth. The work is hybrid, balancing office collaboration and remote work.

Key responsibilities

  • Achieve annual revenue and growth targets by identifying, pitching, negotiating and securing new licensing partners.
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for licensors, licensees and key partners.
  • Own the full licensing lifecycle: business development, contract negotiations, renewals, amendments, product approvals, retail execution and partner management.
  • Develop and run commercial growth strategies based on market analysis, consumer trends, competitive insights and retail opportunities.
  • Partner with the Regional Commercial Director on annual business planning, forecasting, budgeting and strategic reviews.
  • Lead commercial negotiations so deal terms match company objectives and licensor requirements.
  • Work with Legal, Finance, Product Development, Brand Management, Retail and others to streamline contracts and go-to-market plans.
  • Expand the licensing partner network and secure new business opportunities.
  • Monitor commercial performance, retailer activity and market trends, and maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting and business reporting via CRM and internal systems.

Required profile

  • At least around 10 years of experience in licensing, sales, business development, brand management or a related commercial function; direct licensing experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of licensing, including negotiations, contract management, product approvals, retail execution and partner relationship management.
  • Experience with international companies and cross-functional, multicultural teams is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Travel required.

Required skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication.
  • Outstanding relationship-building and networking skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and self-motivation.
