Construction Surveillance Technician

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Construction Surveillance Technician to support U.S. National Security efforts in South Korea. The position carries a base salary of $49,920 annually with a COLA of $750 per week.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect construction materials, packages, bags, boxes, crates and vehicles using x-ray equipment and other technical inspection tools.
• Perform visual inspections of work done by uncleared personnel to spot anomalies and clandestine technical devices.
• Review construction drawings to ensure work matches approved drawings and specifications.
• Conduct risk analysis to set surveillance coverage and inspection types across the construction life cycle.
• Prevent or note changes in construction that could mask an ulterior purpose, and assess where hostile intelligence might use surveillance devices.
• Carry out security escort and access control duties as assigned, and report suspicious behaviour and attempts to gain unauthorized access.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Government-approved CST certification (DoS SE-630 Construction Surveillance Technician course).
• At least 5 years' experience in construction security surveillance, technical surveillance countermeasures, industrial or government security, construction quality assurance, or hands-on supervisory construction.
• Working knowledge of construction safety, and willingness to work outdoors in inclement conditions and to stand or walk for long periods.
• Willingness to train and mentor entry-level personnel.
• Preferred: bachelor's degree, 5 years of construction experience, previous CST experience at 2-3 overseas or domestic project sites, counterintelligence or intelligence analysis, Naval Construction Battalion or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers construction training.
