About the role

The Process Support Engineer (PSE) guides semiconductor products through their full lifecycle, from concept to qualification, providing on‑site installation, system diagnosis, and repair of complex equipment. The role works closely with customers and R&D teams to develop advanced processes and conduct hypothesis experiments.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with customers to understand roadmaps and translate technical requirements into business opportunities for Applied Materials.
• Collaborate on on‑site evaluations, joint development programs, and demos to encourage adoption of new technologies.
• Provide clear solutions to customer problems as an Applied Materials engineer.
• Optimize process flows and equipment performance.
• Deliver comprehensive consulting on equipment diagnostics, troubleshooting, and system solutions.
• Monitor emerging technologies and integrate future industry trends into Applied Materials equipment.

Required profile

• Experience in semiconductor process or equipment (any length of experience).
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Completed mandatory military service or exemption, with no travel restrictions.
• Veterans or persons with disabilities receive preference according to applicable laws.

Required skills

• Etch processes: Dry Etch, Wet Etch, Dry Cleaning, Wet Cleaning, Plasma Physics.
• Deposition technologies: CVD, PVD, ALD, thin‑film, Low‑k, High‑k dielectric, insulating/metal film deposition.
• Metrology & Inspection: SEM, TEM, eBeam defect review/analysis, eBeam/optical wafer inspection, eBeam CD/Overlay metrology, defect/pattern control, process control, photo‑lithography.
• Ion implantation.
• Epitaxy.
• Annealing and rapid thermal processing.
• CMP (chemical‑mechanical planarization).
