Manager, FEP (Epitaxy/RTP) Customer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering, is seeking a Manager, FEP (Epitaxy/RTP) Customer Engineer. The role oversees forecasting, service agreements, start‑up projects, and ensures high customer satisfaction for semiconductor equipment. You will lead a team of customer engineers and drive continuous improvement across service operations.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast financial, manpower, and operational requirements for start‑ups, warranty, and service agreements.
• Identify and pursue new service agreement business in collaboration with marketing and sales.
• Manage start‑up projects, controlling time and cost requirements.
• Oversee local inventories, RMA procedures, and maintain DSO targets.
• Ensure system start‑up and warranty costs stay within reserve limits.
• Drive customer satisfaction through service performance and timely issue escalation.
• Interview, hire, and train customer engineers to support regional business.
• Promote safety practices, develop CE skills, and nurture managerial talent.

Required profile

• Demonstrates in‑depth understanding of concepts, theories, and principles within the job family and basic knowledge of related areas.
• Applies industry knowledge to contribute to business objectives and quality improvement.
• Manages a homogeneous team, adapting plans to meet service and operational challenges.
• Identifies and resolves technical, operational, and organizational problems.
