DDP Installation Customer Engineer

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you will act as the primary liaison with customers to install, maintain, and upgrade semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot and ensure optimal equipment performance.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment, including electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and apply diagnostic techniques with guidance from senior engineers.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and customers to understand roadmaps, process flows, and business challenges.
• Train and mentor junior field service engineers.
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• 4‑7 years of experience in the semiconductor or equipment support industry.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
• Ability to meet on‑site safety, environmental, and COVID‑19 requirements.

Required skills

• Pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum systems, and thermodynamics knowledge.
• Proficiency with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Basic Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
