Workshop Technician – Cryogenic Pump Repair

About the role

The Workshop Technician is responsible for high‑quality repair, rebuilding and optimisation of cryogenic pumps and related equipment at Nikkiso Cryogenic Services' Suwon workshop. The role combines hands‑on mechanical work with technical analysis to ensure reliable, on‑time service for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Disassemble, analyse, troubleshoot and rebuild cryogenic pumps, accessories and motors.
• Operate shop equipment such as drill presses, hydraulic presses, bench grinders, pipe‑threading machines, pipe benders, cutting torches and band saws.
• Assess part condition, identify damage causes and communicate findings to improve product reliability.
• Assemble pump components, fit and align bearings, seals and other parts to tight tolerances.
• Document clearances on assembly data sheets for engineering review.
• Verify work against specifications, customer requirements and standard operating procedures.
• Perform rework, part replacement and contribute to failure‑analysis investigations.
• Maintain tools and workshop equipment in good condition.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical repair or workshop environments, preferably with cryogenic or industrial pumps.
• Strong ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
• Attention to detail, ability to work accurately under tight tolerances.
• Commitment to delivering repairs on schedule and within budget.
