Country Manager - Korea

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Country Manager to lead our client’s operations in Korea. The role sits at the intersection of science, business, and policy, driving food‑innovation initiatives that contribute to a more sustainable and equitable food system.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategic plan for the Korean market, overseeing day‑to‑day operations.
• Build and nurture partnerships with government agencies, academic institutions, industry players, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor market and policy trends to inform strategic decisions.
• Represent the organisation as a trusted authority on food innovation and sustainability.
• Recruit, manage, and develop a high‑performing local team.
• Oversee budgets, resources, and compliance with Korean regulations and regional standards.
• Ensure effective internal communications, processes, and a positive team culture.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and external communications.
• Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Korea’s food‑innovation ecosystem.
• International work experience and comfort in a multicultural environment.
• Proven ability to work independently in fast‑paced, ambiguous settings.
• Successful track record in stakeholder engagement with government, academia, or industry.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with cultural fluency.
• Bilingual fluency in Korean and English (written and verbal).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Suite.
• Experience using Asana or similar productivity platforms.
